Airport Free Wifi Speed Test
As airports across the globe offer free wifi to all passenger, there are a few main differences of free wifi at each airport such as the internet speed, the advertisement, the process to get free wifi, and etc. I’ll share you my experience with free wifi by testing the speed from airports around the world like LAS, LAX, NRT, SJC, TPE.
Free Wifi at LAS airport (McCarran International Airport)
LAS airport - located in Las Vegas, Nevada in USA - offers free wifi to passenger. The passenger has to connect to “McCarren WiFi” and accept the terms of use before begin using the free internet.

Free Wifi at LAX airport (Los Angeles International Airport)
LAX airport - located in Los Angeles, California, USA - offers free wifi and paid premium wifi to passenger. For free wifi at LAX, the process to get free wifi is troublesome. The passenger has to connect to “_LAX Free Wifi” network first. Once connected, the passenger has to select the free wifi option and begin to watch ~30 seconds of video advertisement before the free internet is available for use for up to 45 minutes per session. If the session expires, the whole process has to be re-done to get a free wifi again. Also, on the same screen of selecting the free wifi option, there are a few paid wifi options as well, which have better internet speed and no advertisement.

Free Wifi at NRT airport (Narita International Airport)
NRT airport - located in greater Tokyo area in Japan - offers completely free wifi to passenger. The passenger just connects to a wifi network called “FreeWifi-NARITA” and the internet is available right away.
The speed of free wifi from NRT airport is crazily fast and it’s free! Here is the result of “FreeWifi-NARITA” speed test:

SJC airport - located in San Jose, California, USA - offers completely free wifi to passenger. The passenger just connects to a wifi network called “sjcfreewifi” and the internet is available right away.

TPE airport - located in Taiwan - offers totally free wifi to passenger. The passenger just connects to a wifi network called “Airport Free WiFi” and the internet becomes available right away.

In summary, based on the speed and experience of the free wifi, I say the free wifi at NRT airport in Japan is the best for both superb internet speed and for ease of use. While the free wifi at LAX airport in USA is in the bottom of my list due the advertisement and session limit.
