In-Flight Wifi Speed Test

As the in-flight wifi is available from various airline carriers across the globe, the key of the in-flight wifi is the internet speed. Without a reasonable internet speed, it won’t be usable at all even for the web browsing. Every airlines promote that their wifi is good for reading emails, browsing the website, sending text messages. However, in reality, some of the actions could be achievable at all due to low internet speed.

I have tested the in-flight wifi speed so far on four carriers: ANA, Delta Air Lines, EVA Air, and Singapore Airlines. Here are my findings:

  1. ANA - All Nippon Airways

    • Service name: ANA WiFi Service

    • Type of tested wifi: 30 mins plan for $6.95

    • Speed

      • Download: 3.19 Mbps

      • Upload: 1.43 Mbps

      • Ping: 615 ms

      • Server location: Los Angeles, CA

  2. Delta Air Lines
